Banetoriko on the Edge / ばねとりこ危機一髪

When I was replacing the pick-up for my instrument, The metal nuts got stuck in the important part.

I tried hard to remove them, but only to find they got stuck and stripped even more.

I was about to cry, but instead I drunk sake and went to bed.

The next day, I tried with a socket wrench with my Ryobi….

Then the socket wrench head got stuck! Look what I did, I made it even worse…

But amazingly, I ended up having enough “grip” to loosen the nut on the other side.

What a relief! The picture shows my struggle… Look at the left nut how I beat that up!

ピックアップを交換しようとしている時のことです。楽器の重要な箇所でナットが外れなくなってしまったのです！

取ろうとすればするほど、ナットは「ばか」になって、動かなくなってゆきました。

半泣きになったので、とりあえずお酒飲んで寝ました。

翌日、電動のソケットレンチで再度挑戦。今度はソケットがナットを噛んで、外れなくなってしまいました！ますます悪化。

ところが、それが幸いして、ソケットを掴んで、反対側のナットを緩めることができました。ふう…

やばかった…　写真に格闘のあとが。ナットが傷だらけです…

Banetoriko joins in Insū Bunkai / ば ね と り こ、因 数 分 解 す る

It’s been a long exhausting week. Lack of sleep…

I finished color correction gig on an independent short film.

I am happy to announce that Banetoriko now joins in a band, “Insū Bunkai”.

The word insū bunkai is a math term “factorization”. I learned in math many years ago.

Math is my worst enemy. I scored zero once and I am proud of it.

For me, the word insū bunkai has an image as if numbers can’t hold their numbers anymore, and they start falling apart.

何ともたいへんな一週間でした。睡眠不足です。

あるインディ系短編映画でカラーコレクションを担当し、終えることができました。

さて、ばねとりこがバンド「因数分解」に参加することを、嬉しくご報告いたします。

数学で習いましたね、因数分解。中学のときでしたっけ？

わたしは数学が一番苦手で、０点を取りました。テストの途中で、あまりの訳の分からなさに寝てしまったのです。それはわたしの誇り。

わたしにとって因数分解という響きは、数が数であることに耐えきれなくなって崩れてゆく感じ。

上に出てるのが因数分解での最近のセッションの一曲です。お楽しみください。

新しい心臓 / The New Heart

と言っても、そんな大げさなことではないのです。

古くなったピエゾピックアップを取り替えることにしました。

これが、長年使ったピエゾさん。

そして、昨日届いたマグネティック・ピックアップ。

どうもマグちゃんの方が、わたしの楽器にはよいのかも。音がグサグサきます。

心配なのはアース線。感電しないようにしないと。配線とかぜんぜんわからないのにね。

音に血を通わせられますように。

It actually is not that big deal.

I decided to change my old piezo pickup to new magnetic pickup.

It seems a magnetic pickup has better response with my instrument. The sounds is stabbing.

My concern is grounding wire, not to have electric shock. I have no idea of wiring…

Let blood run through noise.

A greeting from Banetoriko / ばねとりこよりごあいさつ

Hello!

I am starting my noise project Banetoriko, and this is my first entry of my blog.

Based in Los Angeles, influenced by yokai (Japanese spirit/monster in folklore from old times) and other amazing noise artists, Banetoriko aims dreamy noise-scape using my metal instrument and loops.

ノイズプロジェクト、ばねとりこを始めるにあたり、最初のエントリです。

ロサンゼルスを拠点に、日本の妖怪や素晴らしいノイズ・アーティストの方々に影響を受け、ばねとりこでは金属系自作楽器とループを使った夢のような、とろんとしたノイズを目指します。

これからどんどん音をアップしてゆきますので、どうぞよろしく。
